BottleCap BaseBall History & Origins

Have you ever wondered why the Dominican Republic, a small island in the Caribbean, produces so many All-Star caliber baseball players? Well let us introduce you to "Vatilla", which is a game that originated in the DR, and has been used to fine tune their hitting skills for decades! It is played by using the caps off of bottles and a broom handle to hit. The hand-eye coordination necessary to make contact with the thin bat and small cap is what has led to so many dominant hitters coming out of Latin America!
BottleCap BaseBall is a hybrid of the Latin game Vatilla and the American version of Baseball.

Here is a video of Vatilla being played and some of the rules of it! These rules are not directly tied into BottleCap BaseBall, so some of these rules may be different.

A game for players young and old!

BottleCap Baseball was created by kids, for kids. But along the way, bigger kids wanted to get involved and then grownups saw the fun and this reminded them of being a kid again!
The game is very simple to play which lends itself to all different kinds of talent levels from those just starting out, to competitive level BottleCap BaseBall players.
